Lecol 7500 filler has assumed mythical status, mostly among those who have been using it without adequate ventilation.
It can be used for spot filling of cracks and knots and also mass filling of parquet blocks where a perfect finish is required.
It dries fast, has great stain take up and when mixed correctly, superb colour match. Economic, sands well and easy to mix.
Perfect. So, much to the relief of Lecol's competitors, this will some day be discontinued due to solvent content.

DuoFill is a 2 pack low solvent filler that is used for on-site mass filling of parquet. It is not a replacement for 7500 but as high solvent products are gradually phased out, it may well be.
Works differently to 7500. It is a two pack filler with a longer open time which is an advantage for mass filling.
Not as good on larger gaps and it's fiddley to mix small amounts for spot filling.
First, filler is not wood. When mixed correctly, it forms the first and often most important part of the finishing process. For classic 'skating rink', parquet work, it is indespensable.
Do not confuse it with the stuff you see on cheap pre-finished flooring; black, blue and even red lumps of hard mastic gunged into huge knot holes and cracks.
When using filler, mixing is the key.
Use fine sanding dust from the timber you are filling where possible. 120 grit is ideal, preferably from a finishing sander.
